I made this simple quilt for myself last night - just a quick basic design, but I am pleased with the result. I can now hang it over the chair in my room and hide those dirty little finger marks!
The sun is shining today - hooray. Off to the beach!
See ya
xx
Hello Cat, I really enjoy reading your blog :) Your dolls using the Cath Kidston fabric are gorgeous and your quilt is lovely. I would love to make a quilt one day but am not exactly sure how- did you sew all your squares together and then sew that layer on top of some batting and a backing fabric all around the edges? Once you had sewn the 3 layers together around the edges did you sew around each square or across the quilt at all? Hope that makes sense- I am new to crafting but keen to learn! PS: we have very similar reading tastes! I am really enjoying reading Salvation Creek at the moment after reading Eat Pray Love. Have a good week :)
ReplyDeleteHi Megan - thanks for your comments. Salvation Creek is such a great book, I have actually read it twice in the last 3 years and enjoyed it equally the second time. I am just about to embark on 'The house at Salvation Creek'. Re. the quilt, I am no expert, that was my first and very basic, (I only taught myself to sew last year), but I am going to make another this week so will post a tutorial when I do it. Thanks!
