Whilst Lucy and I were at the library the other day, I was lucky enough to spot this book on the edge of one of the shelves.
The colours and composition of the cover automatically grabbed my attention, then when I saw that it was 'The Day the Cow Sneezed' by James Flora (1957) I quickly grabbed it and popped it in our pile. I remember loving this book as a child, and now as an adult the illustrations are even more alluring.
James Flora died in 1998, but, thankfully there is still a lot of interest in his art. You can find more Jim Flora here, or etsy shop here, blog here, facebook here!

inspired by
After a morning of art on session at playcentre I have come home completely motivated and ready to get my teeth into something. Funny how watching kids create can spark that in you!
With coffee in hand I have been enjoying this
lovely book on traditional Cook Islands quilting. The colours and design are just inspirational.

winter days
Don't you love how the simplest things can brighten up a winters day. Our Camellia bush is overflowing with pink goodness at the moment. We have little bowls of them all around the house as the girls are obsessed with collecting the fallen ones and bringing them inside.
We also have an abundance of Tamarillo's... thinking about becoming a pudding for tonight...

wrap me up
I found this lovely, inspirational book at the library recently... It is full of gorgeous, funky wrapping paper designs from the 1960's! I so didn't want to return it - so ended up taking some photos of my favourite pages (too many to attach all, sorry!).
